the (co)founder and her story
I am the reluctant camper. The girl who goes with her friends into the great outdoors just to hangout for the laughs, stories, memories and the fresh air.
See that's me to the left waking up in a tent wondering why I decided to sleep outside on the ground.... turns out I'm always up for an adventure.
the inspiration
It was these friends on this trip that inspired the brand. After several days of camping, hiking, snacking, laughing, telling stories, making memories and maybe a little drinking my friend April commented that we were at "Camp Laugh A Lot". That was all it took me to decide that "Camp Laugh A Lot" would be a brand.
Fast forward 4 years later, I'm on hike thinking about "Camp Laugh A Lot" and it finally hits me-the ethos of the brand-funny, irreverent with a tongue and cheek attitude...
Campy gear for reluctant camper-that's me. It's also so many others, that love being outside but don't want the commitment of actual gear but of course are happy to use their friends.
And CAMP L.A. was born.
So this is for us all the friend of campers who still go for the fun of it but none of the actual commitment of any of it.
A special thanks to my amazing friends who are all different from one another and still love each other anyway.
It doesn't end there....
Not only do I have amazing personal friends but I have fantastic colleagues. So of course an idea is great but it nothing without execution. And the only person I wanted to go on this adventure with is our co-founder, Alex!
And so it begins Alex and Rachael's CAMP L.A.
